The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes driver has stated that he will use the pressure inside himself as an advantage when it comes to defending his World Championship title.

Speaking on ITV's final highlights show before coverage of the sport is handed over to the BBC next season, Hamilton said: "I feel less pressure. I don't feel the pressure comes from my surroundings, I feel it comes from within.

"Putting that pressure on yourself to succeed is what either makes you or breaks you. I still have that pressure on me, but I know I can control it and use it to my own advantage now."

The Brit added that he "doesn't like losing" and neither does anyone else and the fact that he has been successful in a short space of time may be one of the reasons for his unpopularity among other drivers.

Hamilton showed nerves of steel last season and kept his pressure in check as he overtook a rival on the last lap of the Brazilian Grand Prix to enable hime to become World Champion.
