  • John Krafcik becomes acting president and CEO of Hyundai

    One of our faviorte automotive executives John Krafcik, former FoMoCo truck executive, has been given the responsibility of being in charge of Hyundai's entire U.S. operation. Krafcik, 47 and vice president of product development and strategic planning, has been promoted to acting president and CEO of the Korean automaker's U.S. division.

    Krafcik joined Hyundai in 2004 and was a key player in helping Hyundai target vehicle for U.S. customers such as the new 2009 Hyundai Genesis and the Santa Fe. He will now be responsible for Hyundai's strategic direction and for managing U.S. operations.

    Krafcik said: "I am honored at the confidence Hyundai has shown in me and very excited to help improve Hyundai's position in the U.S. market and help Hyundai dealers with a strong strategic vision for the marketing and sales of our vehicles."
